Working at the New York Open Center has oh-so-many perks for a gal like me who is all about massages, herbs, meditation, prayer, and other forms of self-care and healing modalities. I mean, the job itself rocks. I get to work backstage at all of our events, classes and workshops, making sure things run smoothly for all instructors. This also means that once everything is set and ready to roll, I have the chance to sit in and partake in most of these classes, and often even get some short but sweet quality time with the teachers.

Lately, I’ve had the most amazing pleasure of partaking in Robin Rose Bennet’s classes. She’s a writer, a green witch, an herbalist, and a wise woman. She most recently published “The Gift of Healing Herbs”, a recipe book of herbal medicinal remedies. Badass, right?

I’ll be making some of her recipes in the coming weeks and months, and will be posting some of them here. I’m really stoked to be adding herbs into my self-care repertoire.

Also, check it. Robin is leading a nature walk on May 31st in NYC’s Central Park.
