saunas, spas, and everything nice


On our first NYC date, my guy and I hit up the Turkish Baths. It’s the kind of spot that, yeah, in a pinch, does the trick. It’s raw, it’s got grit. It’s not posh by any means, but it gets the job done.

On our second NYC date yesterday, we went to Spa Castle. While most peeps our age were probably bar-hopping, we were sauna-hopping. I’m talking about saunas covered all around with gold, others with salt, and yet others with jade.

And it was when he said to me, at one point, that we should eventually build a sauna/hot tub/cold pool in our place of dwelling that I realized that I was no longer on this Exquisite Self Care journey alone.

It’s true. We attract what we put out there.
